Launching 'Crouch End'
Hornsey Library at the heart of Crouch End - one of two splendid and ambitious municipal buildings constructed by the Borough of Hornsey - was a very appropriate venue for the launch of Curious Crouch End. Fifty or more people came along and lots of books were sold.

The library itself was opened just a few weeks before the Borough of Hornsey was swallowed up into the new London Borough of Haringey (on April Fool's Day 1965). The building - spacious, light and still being used for the purpose for which it was designed - was the borough's attempt to win the good opinion of posterity.
